VSA Rush Tryouts
When we first announced the collaboration between Vision Soccer Academy and Iowa Rush, we knew that we were undertaking a massive endeavor; however, we also knew that the work behind the scenes would culminate in an incredible opportunity for the Iowa Soccer Community. Through the creation of 12 new elite boys and girls teams under the VSA Rush banner, we are able to build on the foundation established by two of the most successful clubs in Iowa as we work together to reach new heights.
A vitally important part of this partnership is the emphasis both Vision Soccer Academy and Iowa Rush have placed on providing the finest player experience possible across both the training and game environments for all levels of soccer players. Without the grassroots programming that both clubs have continued to invest in and grow, there would be no VSA Rush to talk about now. We fully understand that our success at the highest level is predicated on our ability to help develop players at the youngest age groups and create a player pathway that provides challenges, successes, and new opportunities throughout their soccer careers. VSA Rush represents one of these new opportunities and, with the addition of the full ECNL programming for the boys and the Girls Academy pathway for the girls, we continue to be excited about the future of soccer in Iowa.
As we continue to look forward to the future, we also understand the importance of reflecting on the past and recognizing the work that has been done to create our current opportunities. Within our clubs, we have continued to maintain strong ties to our communities, something that is apparent through the construction of our coaching staff. We are happy to have native Iowans working at various levels throughout our programs and have been able to add pieces to the staff that provide experience at all levels of the game both locally and abroad.
With the conclusion of our inaugural tryouts on Tuesday night, our excitement for the future has not dulled and, now more than ever, we are proud of the soccer community that we’re able to be a part of. In the words of American author, James Baldwin, “If you know whence you came, there is really no limit to where you can go,” and we fully believe that the sky’s the limit for our Iowa soccer community through VSA Rush.
